This was in Tally's long note below, but I pulled it out for all to see:
Celebration of Life is set for Aug. 2nd, Saturday, 10 am, Vasa Park Hall, Bellevue. (3560 W. Lk. Sammamish Pkwy. SE, Bellevue, 98008.)
I'm asking for wrestling officials to wear their stripes and softball umps their blues.
Educators can wear their school shirts. Soccer players in their uniform tops. It's Jack, folks, it would have to be informal wear........
Time for story sharing will be the center, and I'm sure there's some great stories out there.

Jack was my wrestling coach 79-80 & 80-81 his first 2 years @ Maywood. I'll never forget my Freshman year when he decided to have us do aerobics @ practice as well as in PE class, we all thought he was crazy but later on we understood he was just making us better atheletes and people. My first year was tough, he came in new and us upper classmen we didn't want to listen to him after having a different coach the year before that we really liked, but he had a way of figuring that out quickley and after about 2 practices we soon learned to respect him. In 2005 I got to see him for the the first time since I graduated from Liberty in 1984,just so happened that my son was going to Maywood and had Jack for PE, I rememeber my son coming home from school his first day and saying (Dad I got Mr. Reynolds for PE and when he saw my last name he said great another Flowers) but then he told me that you were the best wrestler he ever had. I told my son that there was no way that was true, there was guys way better than me,but that didn't stop me from working hard because that's what he expected of us.Jack had told me about all the treatments he had gone through and had beaten everything up to that point. I told him about my wife being told she had Breast Cancer and he said Ernie you guys are gonna win. She had that same additude but she lost her battle this last January.Everything you said in your letters is the same thing I've been saying and doing myself, and I keep going as well on very little sleep raising my 15 & 10 year old. We'll get through this one day at a time, some days will be easier than others, you had 40 years that you'll never forget, I had 20+5 years as High school sweethearts at Liberty and beyond. Everybody always wants to know if theres anything they can do but I'm gonna tell you if you ever want to talk I'm a good listner, sometimes its nice to be able to call someone and just let it all out. You take care of yourself and give your family love. I know my son and I WILL NEVER FORGET Jack, he made a huge impression in our lives and will live in our hearts forever. Hi Tally,
Karen and I share this note with one and all while sending it with heart-felt feelings for you, a very special lady, as you pick your path through a time of simply unimaginable ordeal. We want this note to be our contribution to the celebration of Jack's life. That fine life surely impacted many, many fortunate souls. It surely touched our lives.
Karen and I have had the great privilege of knowing and loving you and big Jack for less than three short years, but these years have been very special for us. The experience has been both remarkable and precious. We truly envy those folks blessed with the opportunity to know you two for many more years.
You both became and will remain especially important to us. You both were a "mother lode" of strength and resolve for Karen at the time when we faced my great health ordeal. With the blessings of loving family, a fine surgeon, modern medicine, and very dear friends, as you well know, we survived my challenge. Most important, Karen found her way through that horrible time with the gifts of much love, compassion, and guidance. A large measure of that vital contribution came from Jack and you. We will forever be thankful for it.
At this trying time, you need not only help and concern but, also, peaceful time to reflect. You have certainly not lost big Jack. You know precisely where he is. No doubt, he is already making heaven a more joyful place. As always, I am certain that he is truly busy. I imagine that he is smiling and laughing as he prepares a grand reception for his beloved Tally. However, as always, kind and caring, he knows that you must remain for quality years to come on this old earth to share his memory and happiness as well as your fine qualities with countless friends. Even during these days of grief, you are very well sharing him with all of us who care so deeply!
Love, Karen & Bill
I had Mr. Reynolds as a PE teacher all through middle school at Maywood. I remember my first day of class as a little 6th grader, at a new school, I was so nervous. When Reynolds called my name for the roll call, I said "here" and he told me he was going to call me "Kooly" instead, from here on out, because it sounds "cooler". HAHA. He then looked at my last name and recognized it. He was also my dad's wrestling coach when he was in high school at Issaquah. And from then on, he was my all time favorite teacher. He was so hilarious. He always told the funniest jokes. Well, they were so lame, they were funny. It made me feel good whenever I'd go back to Maywood to watch my little brother wrestle, and I'd go down on the floor and Reynolds would always greet me with a big hug. Still calling me Kooly. I hadn't seen him in over a year. And when I found out he passed away, I was completely speechless. My heart goes out to the family and close friends of his. He really was a cool guy. He will be greatly missed by me and my family and all the students he taught.
R.I.P.
Reynolds, the coolest dude in town.
